McKNIGHT – William A., 73, Beaverdale, died August 15, 2023, at home. Born January 18, 1950, in St. Michael; son of John B. and Elizabeth J. (Waddell) McKnight. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, Charles; in-laws, Brenda Wilson, Kevin Kroskie, and Christine Kroskie; and nephew, Ernest Wilson.
Survived by wife of 51 years, Rose M. (Kroskie); daughter, Tracy Chilcote (Ryan); son, Brandon (Jamie); sister, Mary Louise Fisher (James); brothers, John (Janice), and James (Pamela); grandchildren, Braylon, Makayla, and Trinity; in-laws, Lawrence Kroskie, Stacy Skrout (Scott), and Ernest “Red” Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1967 and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551. He was a former Pennsylvania State Trooper, worked for Conrail, and retired from Norfolk Southern. Bill was proud of his Irish heritage and was often seen attending festivals dressed in his kilt. He enjoyed baseball and basketball, had a talent for drawing, and especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Reverend Father Jerzy Auguscik OFM Conv., presiding.
Interment, Dunmyer Cemetery, Salix.
