Violet J. Ressler

RESSLER – Violet J., “Vi,” 81, South Fork, died January 25, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. Born November 18, 1935, in South Fork, daughter of Emerson and Hazel (Thomas) Rowe.
Preceded in death by parents; and husband, Robert K. Ressler, who died January 10, 1992.

Survived by daughters, Sherri Zack, South Fork; and Therri, wife of Mike Mazzarese, Boswell; and sons, Robert, engaged to Lori Johns, Wilmore; and Jerry, married to Patricia (Bassett), South Fork; beloved grandchildren, Shannon, Tricia, Amee, Nicole, John, Melissa, Ryan, Mekesha, Robert, Shawna, Ashley and Cortney; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Delores, wife of Ken Costello, Somerset; and Phyllis, wife of Jerry Sherle, Sidman.

Together with her husband, Vi owned and operated the South Fork Tavern; she later enjoyed assisting at the South Fork News Agency. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, South Fork, and had formerly been active in the community as a member of the Ebensburg Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and VFW Post 7524, Ladies Auxiliary. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Rev. Randy Baines officiating. Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
