Veronica Sharp

SHARP – Veronica, 71, Johnstown, formerly of Beaverdale, died April 30, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 17, 1946, in Beaverdale, daughter of Stephen A. and Mildred V. (Sherry) Nagy.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Lloyd B. Sharp; daughter, Lori Ann Sharp; son, Lloyd T. Sharp; sister, Mary Sharp; and brother, Joseph Nagy.

Survived by daughter, Susan Sharp, Johnstown; son, Gary A. Sharp, Johnstown; companion of 27 years, Jim Heming, Johnstown; sisters, Elizabeth (Walter) Smith, Lima, Ohio; Margaret Minor; and Viola (Tim) Ickes, all of Beaverdale; brother, William (Mary Jean) Nagy, Severn, Maryland; daughter-in-law, Christina Sharp, Beaverdale; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vernie was a graduate of Triangle Area High School, class of 1964 and was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Johnstown. She had worked as an aide for Homestead Personal Care; enjoyed playing bingo, trips to the Meadows and spending time with family.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. until time of service at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, by Father Clarence S. Bridges.

Following cremation committal will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Beaverdale.
