GLACKEN – Glenn C. “Tom,” 90, Westlake, Ohio, formerly of Johnstown, passed March 25, 2018. Born February 3, 1928, in South Fork, son of William and Margaret (Dimond) Glacken. Preceded in death by parents; brother, William and sister, Patricia McNemar.
Survived by loving wife of 66 years, Vivian (Matunis) Glacken, whom he married April 7, 1951; daughters, Jennifer, wife of Stephen Lesinski, Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Deborah L. Glacken, North Ridgeville, Ohio; and cherished grandsons, Adam, Thomas and Luke Lesinski, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Tom was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Johnstown. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired railroad yardmaster from Conrail. Tom not only earned a living in the rail industry for more than 40 years, but was also an avid train enthusiast who enjoyed the history of and learning all things trains. He was a talented woodworker, always had fun playing cards (especially for money) and liked to relax with a challenging puzzle. His family will hold dear memories of a loving and kind husband, father and grandfather, who was full of energy and had a zest for life.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father David Peles, Celebrant.
