BUMFORD – Thomas A., 93, Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of Wilmore. He travelled a lot over the last 10 years and made his final trip peacefully at home in his sleep from cancer January 28, 2018, to join his wife in Heaven.
Born September 4, 1924, in Munster, son of Abner J. and Priscilla (Simmons) Bumford. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ruthe (Harshberger) Bumford, who died February 22, 2008; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survived by daughter, Helen Deem, Kissimmee, Florida; sons, Barry, Goose Creek, South Carolina; and Roger (Cyndi), St. Cloud, Florida; 10 grandchildren & spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty, Arlington, Virginia; and Catherine, Seattle, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
He served in the Army Air Corps from March of 1944 to June of 1946. Retired railroader and member of the Kissimmee Elks Lodge #1873. He loved going to baseball games that his great-grandson's played and he enjoyed spending time with family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a military graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at South Fork Cemetery. Interment to follow.
