PENATZER – Thelma Mae, 92, formerly of New Germany, died peacefully, December 17, 2021, at McCullough Place, Westmont. Born February 24, 1929, in St. Michael, daughter of George H. and Margaret C. (Barr) Patterson.
Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, Ernest J. Penatzer, who died December 28, 2013; infant son, Joseph Ernest; sisters, Donna Lucas and Patricia Patterson; and brothers, Leroy and George.
Survived by children, Jana, married to William Peters, Pennsylvania Furnace; Terri, married to Robert Feather, Windber; Timothy, married to Lori Deyarmin, Purcellville, Virgina; Carol, married to Donny Totten, Trinity, Florida; and Ronald married to Traci Woodley, Saltsburg; sister, Peggy Friend, Ravenna, Ohio; grandchildren, Kitty (Brandon), George (Claire), Alyssa (Nathan), Caitlin, Joseph (Melanie), Thomas, Eden (Jon), Adria, Erika, Stephanie (Brandon), and Jordan (Ross); great-grandchildren, Georgia, Ren, Gabriela, Esme, Asher, James, Andrew, Roger, Graham, and Magnolia; in-laws, Elaine, Jeanette, Robert, and J. Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends.
Thelma was a graduate of Adams High School, class of 1947. In her younger years she worked for the former Eureka Store in St. Michael. She was a devoted and active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany; where she enjoyed fellowship with friends in the Altar Rosary Society and serving in other capacities as a gifted and loving member of the laity. Thelma was also a member of St. Michael American Legion Auxiliary and the Summerhill Social Club. Thelma possessed a kind and gentle spirit and a smile for everyone. She had a beautiful faith. Thelma loved her family which were the focus of her life in addition to caring for her home. She enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels and nurturing her flowers.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 19th at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, December 20th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
