BOWSER – Sunny A., 76, Altoona, died July 26, 2021, at UPMC Altoona. Born December 17, 1944, in Johnstown, son of Harold S. and Virginia Grace (Burkey) Bowser. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Harold “Ike” Bowser. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Marlene A. (Gates) Bowser, Altoona; sons, William, married to Christina (Monbourne), Naples, FL, and Daniel, Altoona; and grandchildren: Madison (Dominick Kidd), Box Elder, SD; Cameryn Bowser, Altoona; Jacob and Olivia Bowser, Naples.
Also, brother, Timothy J., married to Suzanne (Baranik), Williamsburg; and sister, Cindy S., wife of Raymond Fagan, Altoona.
Sunny was a proud USMC veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He retired as a State Trooper from the Pennsylvania State Police after 26 years of service. Sunny was an avid woodworker but also enjoyed playing Mario Brothers on his Wii.
Private family viewing at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside committal service with full military honors at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery, South Fork, Rev. Randolph K. Landman, officiating, and St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
