FAHER – Stephen F., 67, Summerhill, died at home November 19, 2016, surrounded by loving family. Born October 22, 1949, in Windber, son of Stephen and Marie C. “Babe” (Progar) Faher. Preceded in death by parents; and nephew, Joshua A. Faher.
Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Gail (Wilson) Faher, whom he married October 7, 1978; children, Matthew, married to Amanda (Nuzum), Murrysville; Jessica, wife of Ian Singer, Summerhill; and Stephanie, wife of Joshua Partsch, Summerhill; grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Michael Faher; Nicholas, Michael, Jacob and Lucas Singer; and Melody and Violet Partsch; twin brother, Joseph, married to Cathy (Shay), Sidman; sister, Janet, wife of Joseph Hutsky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1967. US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill. Former coal miner at Bethlehem Mine 33 and retired Correctional Officer from SCI – Somerset. Also a member of UMWA Local 1368, American Legion Post 551 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 364. Steve was an avid Steelers fan, he enjoyed collecting coins, yard work and the simple pleasure of just putsying around. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, his family and friends will hold dear memories of a loving, kind and generous man.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church by Fr. Leon Hont, OSB.
