PINKAS – Stella A., 90, St. Michael, died July 10, 2020, at Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown. Born October 4, 1929, in Portage, the last surviving child of Samuel and Edna (Wal) Selencavage.
Preceded in death by parents, beloved husband, Stanley J. Pinkas, who died July 20, 2014; daughter-in-law, Karen (Schrum) Pinkas; sisters, Frances Cordek and Mary Selencavage; and brothers, John, Edward, and Joseph Kondek and Samuel Selencavage.
Survived by sons, Samuel, married to Barbara (Shank), Mechanicsburg; Anthony, Johnstown; Stanley, Summerhill; Michael, married to Debbie (Daniels), Johnstown; daughters, Paula, wife of Lee Norton, Kelso, Washington; and Helen Pinkas, New Port Ritchey, Florida; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Stella was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, where she volunteered with their former bingo ministry. She was a longtime school bus driver and owned and managed the 1889 Hotel and Bar for 11 years. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and family gatherings were always made special by her terrific cooking.
Honoring her wishes visitation will be private.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Monsignor David Lockard, Celebrant.
