BREWER – Samuel H., 89, Mount Hope, died December 2, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born February 1, 1928 in Salix, son of Samuel J. and Martha B. (Varner) Brewer.
Preceded in death by parents; brothers Dick and Clifford; and step-sons, Keith and Alan Wilkinson.
Survived by loving wife of 39 years, Carolyn A. (Marteeny) Brewer, whom he married October 6, 1978; daughter, Teresa, wife of David Miller, Hooversville; son, Thomas, married to Judith (Rice), Southmont; step-daughter, Lorrie, wife of John Binnie, Hollsopple; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Cris) Erdtsieck, Nicholas Brewer (Lexy), Laura Kelly (Bobby) and Deanna Binnie; great-grandson, Beckett Davis; sister-in-law, Josephine, Plant City, Florida; and step daughter-in-law, Pamela Watt, Mount Hope.
Sam was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a pipe fitter with 30 years of service for Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown. Member of Johnstown Moose Lodge #48, OUAM Johnstown Council 72 Junior Order, Hooversville VFW post # 7565, United American Mechanics Steelworkers Union, and High Priority Bowling League. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and was an avid gardener. Sam will be dearly missed by his family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Rev. Joseph Stains officiating.
Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
