CHRISTINA – Robert J. Sr., 93, New Germany, died May 18, 2024, at home. Born March 3, 1931, in Summerhill, son of Stephen and Elizabeth (Radachousky) Christina. Preceded in death by parents; son, Robert J. Christina Jr.; brothers, Stephen, Francis, and Charles Christina; and sisters, Irene Wasilenko; Catherine Golden; Helen Dixon; and Elizabeth Marchu.
Survived by beloved wife, Mary Grace (Schrift); children, Constance, wife of Duane Lamar; Gary “Ribs;” Kimberly Ann, wife of Tim Long; and Curtis, married to Sherry (Harlin); eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; brothers, John and Bill; and sister, Andrea Podrasky.
Member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany. US Army veteran of the Korean War. Bob retired after 30 years of service in the blast furnace division at Bethlehem Steel. He was also a member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551 and Portage Moose Lodge 131. His deep appreciation for nature could be seen in his love of fishing and gardening. He will be remembered as a pillar of support for his family. Steadfast; always offering guidance, encouragement, and love.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
Committal, St. Marys Cemetery, New Germany. Military rites by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
