Robert W. Christ

CHRIST – Robert W. “Pappy,” 103, Sidman, went to be with the Lord, October 9, 2024. Born May 5, 1921, in Geistown. Preceded in death by parents; Walter F. and Mary L. (Mark) Christ; wife, Eileen M. (Shaffer) Christ, who died October 10, 2004; sons, Robert James and Barry Bruce; brothers, James, Richard, Melvin “Tom,” William, and Walter “Bucky;” and sisters, Nancy Larkin, and Sally Strayer. 

Survived by son, Michael, married to Penny (Spittal); daughter, Cindy, wife of Jack Leichliter; sister, Jane Harrison and brother, Lynn Christ; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Robert was the embodiment of hard work and dedication. And a testament to the idea that age is just a number, even driving cement truck at the age of 85! We find comfort knowing he has been reunited with loved ones, received his eternal reward and can now rest from his labor. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, Pastor Rodney Hatfield, presiding. 

Interment, Berkey Cemetery, Windber.
