VIVIAN – Richard M., “Dick,” 60, South Fork, died peacefully, April 21, 2017, at home. Born March 7, 1957, in Johnstown, son of Wilbur Dean and Mary Alice (Ratchford) Vivian. Preceded in death by parents; father-in-law, Steve Sikora; sister-in-law, Clara Sutt; and brother-in-law, Russell Hufford and his wife Nancy.
Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Susan (Sikora) Vivian, whom he married September 25, 1976; children, Nicholas A., married to Nicole S. (Faher), South Fork; Richard Dean, Charleston, South Carolina; and Michael S., married to Shanna (Connor), South Fork; grandchildren, Noah, Sophia, Gabriella, Skyler and Maddix; brother, James, married to Kathy (Moss), Ehrenfeld; sister, Deanna, and companion, Tim Furlong, St. Michael; mother-in-law, Bonnie Sikora, South Fork; dear niece, Abbey; special friend, Kurt Wagner; and numerous other beloved family and friends. Dick was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1975; and graduated cum laude from Mount Aloysius College, where he earned his associate degree in biology.
Lector for the former St. James Parish, faithful member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork; and member of Knights of Columbus. He worked for Cambria Wilbert Vault Company for over 17 years; and also worked for IU8, Zepka Harley Davidson, L & R Custom Cycles, and for the last 12 years as a mechanic for Mountain Boss Hoss Cycles, Somerset. Dick enjoyed serving his community and always sought to make the area a better place. He was a charter board member of the Forest Hills Ambulance Association and Forest Hills Municipal Authority. Current president and 30 year member of South Fork Borough Council. Member of Cambria County Fireman’s Association, and life member of the South Fork Volunteer Fire Department, where he held various offices and served as past president and former fire chief. Dick enjoyed fishing and hunting and was happiest when he saw his children reach their accomplishments and experience joy in their lives.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held at 4 p.m. Monday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, by Father Joseph C. Nale.
