Rhonda J. Holdsworth

August 4, 1959 — October 6, 2024

HOLDSWORTH – Rhonda J., 65, of Sidman, passed away October 6, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born August 4, 1959 in Johnstown, daughter of Harry and Gwendolyn (Miller) Ickes. Preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, John J. Holdsworth; and father-in-law, Archie Holdsworth Sr.

Survived by husband of 46 years, David E. Holdsworth; sons, David (Beth Toth) and John; grandchildren, Autumn, Dylan, Hayle, Christopher, and Kylie; mother-in-law, Lois Holdsworth; siblings, Monte (Debbie), Marlene Ickes, Wayne (Cindy), Tim (Viola), Arlene Lester and Charlene Ickes; in-laws, Archie (Donna) Holdsworth and Barbara (David Mulhollen); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rhonda was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, where she worked for over 20 years as a custodian. She was a radiant soul who discovered the love of her life at a young age. David, a once rowdy and reckless young man, married her when they were in their early twenties, embarking on a journey that would last more than 40 beautiful years. Together, they built a home, a family, and a life filled with love. Their two sons, David and Johnny, grew up and raised five wonderful, smart grandchildren, who brought Rhonda so much joy. Everyone who knew Rhonda saw her as a happy, free-spirited, compassionate, and patient person. But those closest to her knew she could be a real spitfire. Whether it was her sons, grandchildren, or David himself, she had a way of keeping everyone in line. If you got in trouble, as Rhonda would say herself, "Ohhh, they knew they had it coming, buddy!" She made sure everyone knew not to mess with her, especially when it came to her family. Rhonda always told the best stories- whether they were about crazy camping adventures, times when sons and husbands got into trouble, or funny, embarrassing stories about the grandkids. Everyone can say they've heard those stories at least twice, but they never got old. They always ended with laughter that brought tears to your eyes. From summer picnics under the carport in the backyard to late evening gatherings at the house after long days of hunting, she always had a way of keeping everyone together. With her blonde hair, blue eyes, round rosy cheeks, and contagious smile, she created a warmth that will be forever missed. Rhonda will always hold a special place in the hearts of her friends and family.
