Rhoda M. Gordon

GORDON – Rhoda M., 74, of Salix, passed away January 26, 2025 at Windber Hospital. Born March 22, 1950 in Johnstown, daughter of Paul C. “Buzz” Jr. and Roseann (Canavan) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Thomas “Bub” Shaffer and Allen “Bouga” Shaffer.

Survived by husband, William D. Gordon, Jr.; son, William married to Jessica (Segada); loving grandchildren, Saqarra and Seyenna; siblings, Paul “Babe” Shaffer III (Kathy), Jim Shaffer (Carol), Colette “Cakie” McCool (Rege), John “Bo” Shaffer (Lori), Richard “Ricko” Shaffer (Annette), Glynnis “Glinnie” Sherry (Bob), and Heather Pudliner (John); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rhoda was a 1968 graduate of Portage Area High School. She enjoyed going to craft shows and was known for her kind and accepting personality, as she got along with everybody. She always put others before herself. Rhoda’s most important role was that of grandmother, she was a devoted “Mimi” who cherished her time with her granddaughters.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Private inurnment at Dunmyer Cemetery at a later date.
