ROBINSON – Renee L., 57, Wyomissing, Pennsylvania; formerly of South Fork, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 15, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born January 5, 1964 in Johnstown, the daughter of Paul J. and Thelma M. (Noon) Robinson.
Preceded in death by mother, who died on December 8, 2020; maternal grandparents, James and Sannie (Oswalt) Noon; paternal grandparents, Albert and Mary (Sherlock) Robinson; and aunt Carole Nocek and uncle Jim Martin.
Survived by loving father, Paul of South Fork; sister Carla, wife of Randy Burleson, Round Hill, Virginia; brothers, Gary, Johnstown; and Doug, husband of Pamela (Zimet), Dunn Loring, Virginia; and special goddaughter and niece, Katelyn Burleson, Round Hill, Virginia. Also survived by aunts and uncles: Rita and Joe Coyne, Vallejo, California; Chester Nocek, West Wyoming, Pennsylvania; Jean Martin, South Fork; and Marvin and Diana (Hoffman) Noon, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and numerous cousins and dear friends.
She was a 1981 graduate of Forest Hills High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialty in Nursing from Duquesne University in 1985. Renee was a registered nurse for three years at Veteran’s Administration hospitals in Pittsburgh and San Francisco. She then worked as a critical care nurse at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, DC. While being employed with the hospital, Renee attended Georgetown University Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree. She was admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania and was a member of the Bar Association in Pennsylvania. She was senior counsel for a renowned law firm for over 20 years focused on products liability in Washington DC. She also worked as a nursing manager with Travelers’ Insurance in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
She was a long-time member of St. James Catholic Church (now Most Holy Trinity) of South Fork. Renee was loving and caring and really enjoyed spending time with her family. She was gifted at crocheting and loved fishing, animals, playing the piano and following her favorite teams, including the Pirates, Penguins, Baltimore Orioles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and her beloved Steelers.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, 621 Maple Street, South Fork. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Most Holy Trinity Church, 550 Main Street, South Fork, Father Joseph C. Nale celebrant. Committal and inurnment service will follow immediately at the South Fork Cemetery.
