Ray proudly served our country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrest Royal (DD-872) during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged 1952, shortly thereafter he married the love of his life, Fritzie, in 1953. Ray and Fritzie spent the majority of their lives in Tipp City, Ohio where Ray retired from Tippecanoe School District and was an active member of St. Johns Catholic Church. Ray and Fritzie moved to Johnstown, PA in 1995 where he enjoyed his retirement gardening, spending time in the woods and working in his wood shop. You would have always found Ray leading the Rosary at St. Michael Catholic Church where he was also an active member. One of his proudest moments was being the oldest man to receive a motorcycle license at age 83 in Cambria County, PA. He spent his remaining years at Country Meadows Retirement Community in York, PA. Ray will truly be missed by all including his faithful dog to the very end, “Snickers.”
