Raymond D. Wonders

WONDERS – Raymond D., 77, Johnstown, died peacefully at home October 21, 2022. Born July 25, 1945, in St. Michael, son of Twila H. (Winder) and George B. Wonders. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Patricia Anne (Gerber) Wonders, who died July 14, 2020; and brother, George J. Wonders.

Survived by children, Ben Sandford, married to Richelle (Miller), Cogan Station; Christopher, married to Aimee (Kaufman), Richland; Ashley, married to Derek Sheaffer, Richland; Ray, married to April (Baker), Windber; and JoAnn, married to Rick Rheel, Johnstown; sister, Jacqueline V. Klock, and brothers, William L., and Robert A. Wonders; 7 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren.

Raymond accomplished many things within his lifetime, working in the coalmine, working on the railroad, serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War, driving truck for Schneider, working for Richland School District, assisting in the care of his father-in-law, Ralph Gerber; and caring for his wife as she underwent treatments for cancer. Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Raymond joined his wife at last.

Honoring his wishes there will be no visitation.
