Ramona M. Smith

SMITH – Ramona M., 85, Mount Hope, died January 6, 2017 at Windber Hospice. Born July 10, 1931, in St. Michael, daughter of Antonio and Theresa (Ponsetto) Cannonie. Preceded in death by parents; and husband, Russell D. Smith, who died October 25, 2011.

Survived by son, Russell A., married to Tracy L. (Bair), Salix; grandchildren, Cassandra, wife of Mark Mackel, Mount Hope; Samantha; and Alexandra; Salix; brother, James Cannonie and wife Carol, Perry, Ohio; and sister, Joyce Evanchick and husband Joseph, Perry, Ohio; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Ramona was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Johnstown. She enjoyed spending time with family, flower gardening, cooking and baking.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, by Father Charles Bridges.
