WADSWORTH – Ralph G., 89, South Fork, went to be with the Lord, May 21, 2017. Born November 8, 1927, South Fork, son of C. Herbert and Rose (Bortel) Wadsworth. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Jean Moss, who died January 23, 1998; second wife, Ellen Jane (Phillips), who died December 30, 2016; brothers, Herbert, Robert, William “Earl,” George, John “Dean,” and Clyde Wadsworth; sisters, Mahala May, Grace Bracken, Lois Frank and Betty Smith.
Survived by children, Terri, wife of Larry Oaks, Summerhill; Barry, married to Betty Jane (Smith), Salix; Carri, wife of Ray Mathieson, South Fork; and Craig, married to Rachael (Louder), Sidman; grandchildren, Benjamin (Melinda), Timothy, Stephanie (Nathan), Amanda, Kayla (Sam), Kody, Lynae, Ashley (Fred), and Kylie; great grandchildren, Kendal, Evan, Leah, Colton, Kameryn and Hayley; sister, Lorraine Seyda, Ellicott City, Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends.
Ralph was a US army veteran of WWII. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, South Fork. Graduate of South Fork High School, class of 1945 and a member of the Bengal Tigers and Falcon Drum & Bugle Corp. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., car shop. Ralph enjoyed volunteering and being active in his community. He was a member of the South Fork Volunteer Fire Department and the South Fork Lions Club. He served with the South Fork Cemetery Association, South Fork – Croyle Park Authority, and the Croyle Township Planning Commission, Water Authority and Recycle Program. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved to be surrounded by family and who especially enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their many sporting events.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Viewing also at First United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Terry Trudgen officiating.
Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
