WESS – Priscilla I. “Pat,” 93, New Germany, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, surrounded by loving family on March 2, 2020. Born July 30, 1926, in Johnstown, daughter of Daniel and Carrie (Kelly) Altimus.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, George W. “Bill” Wess, who died August 1, 2006; and brothers, Frederick and Richard Altimus.
Survived by daughter, Cynthia Wess, New Germany; and son, Ronald, married to Kathryn (Wirfel), New Germany; grandson, Ryan Wess, Pittsburgh; grand-dog, Ruby; sister-in-law, Betty Altimus, Ohio; and special friends, Marge and Clay Croyle; and Susie Bodenschatz.
She had good friends among her skating buddies and the “luncheon” crew. Pat worked for Joann Dress Manufacturing, Ebensburg; for more than 25 years. She was a talented seamstress and quite the accomplished roller skater. The Cooking Channels were constant viewing options, except when Jeopardy was scheduled. On special occasions we could expect lemon meringue pie for her grandson, date cakes, deviled eggs, and cranberry salad. She loved word puzzles and reading. Pat socialized with everyone at the banks, doctor’s offices and Walmart, etc., always wearing her jewelry and lipstick. She worked hard all of her life and will be sadly missed.
Private family visitation, friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 538 Main Street, Summerhill; Father Leon Hont, OSB, Celebrant.
