BURNS – Pauline L., 84, South Fork, died April 25, 2019 at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage. Born July 29, 1934, in Portage Township, daughter of George Breto and Pearl (Megrenne) Breto-Moratti.
Preceded in death by parents; step-father, John Moratti; sisters, Betty Moffat and Louise Bentkowski; brothers, George Jr. and Ronald “Sadie” Breto; and faithful pets, Jumbo, Tippy, Barney and Daisy.
Survived by loving husband of 58 years, Robert “Ned” Burns, whom she married October 6, 1960; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork. She was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1952. US Women’s Army Corps veteran having served in the Army Medical Service during the Korean War. Pauline retired from Conemaugh Hospital after many years of service as a secretary in the dietary department. She enjoyed volunteering in her community, attended the Forest Hills Senior Center and was a dedicated lifetime member of the American Legion Post 653, South Fork, where she served as Adjutant and Secretary.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.
