Paul William Lauffer Sr.

LAUFFER – Paul William Sr., 69, Central City, went to be with Jesus, March 10, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 27, 1954, in Buffalo, New York; son of Richard K. Sr. and Betty Lou (Niper) Lauffer. Preceded in death by parents; son, Matthew Brian Lauffer; and grandson, Timothy R. “Timmy” Lauffer.

Survived by wife of 48 years, Karen E. (Deffenbaugh) Lauffer; sons, Thomas (Karen), Michael (Tina), and Paul Jr. (Rebecca); grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley, Blaize, Kody, Courtney, Kaleb, Jackson, and Ruby; great grandchildren, Brantley, Bryson, and Bowen, brother, Richard (Cathy); and sisters, JoAnn, Cindy Monroe (Robert), and Connie. 

Paul was an active member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, where he served coffee and cookies with a smile and our Lord Jesus with his whole heart and soul. He drove truck for McQuaide for 47 years and approached his work with a sense of pride and responsibility. He was a jokester with a big heart, who had a remarkable ability to find humor in the simplest of situations, making even tough days a little brighter. His spirit will forever live on in the echoes of his laughter and the kindness he shared. We love you Jerk!

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. 

Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 1421 Clapboard Run Road, Johnstown, PA 15904; Pastor Mike Kinney presiding. 

Interment, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob.
