VARNER – Nicholas P., 39, Summerhill Township, died September 24, 2018, at home. Born September 17, 1979, in Johnstown, son of Jeffrey L. and Bernice A. (Parks) Varner.
Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Harold and Joanne Parks; and paternal grandfather, Roy S. “Jim” Varner.
Survived by parents, Summerhill Township; beloved son, Zachary L. Mattice, Northern Cambria; brother, Dr. Jeffrey A., married to Sunika Pawar, Denver, Colorado; grandmother, Margaret Varner, Mineral Point; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graduate of Central Cambria High School, class of 1998 and former Pennsylvania Army National Gaurdsman with the 28th Military Police Co., Johnstown. He especially appreciated the beauty of the outdoors and had a special talent caring for horses as an Equine Dental Technician. Nick was a loving and dedicated father who cherished spending time with his son. They did everything together: fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, watching movies or simply singing in the car meant so much to him.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Viewing will also be held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Singer Hill Grace Brethren Church, 2980 William Penn Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15909, the Rev. Drew Walther presiding.
Interment, Rose Hill Cemetery, Mineral Point.
