Nancy L. Ondrejik

ONDREJIK – Nancy L., 87, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord September 24, 2024. Born January 24, 1937, in Latrobe; daughter of Louis and Frances (Degleau) Tepper. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph Ondrejik, who died November 22, 2023; and brother-in-law, Ubaldo Montesino.

Survived by children, Dr. Joseph (Leisa Pulliam), Dr. Timothy (Pamela Moore); Dr. Susan Cottingham (Thad); and David (Theresa Winter); grandchildren, Joey, Andrew, Erik (Stephanie), Keri, Karlie, and Kyle; great-granddaughter, Addison Grace; brother, Louis (Karen Oleszewski); and sister, Patricia (Doug Broxson).

Nancy was a graduate of Derry Area High School; Indiana State Teachers College (IUP), and Mount Aloysius School of Nursing. She began her journey as a teacher, but her desire to serve and care for others didn’t stop there. Later in life, she made the decision to go back to school and pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. She had a special love for gardening, tending to her flowers, and of course there were her tomatoes— Her garden yielded the most delicious, sun-ripened tomatoes, grown with love and shared with those she cared about. She enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures. But Nancy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. They were the most beautiful blossoms of her life. Nancy planted seeds of kindness and joy. Her life reminds us of the power of compassion, the importance of lifelong learning, and the beauty of serving others.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork., where Cambria County Nurses Honor Guard will hold a Nightingdale Tribute at 6 p.m.  Visitation at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Johnstown; the Reverend Nancy Hoover presiding. Interment Christ the Saviour Cemetery.
