HAINES – Myrtle Regina, 86, Portage, died November 28, 2024. Born November 24, 1938, in Summerhill. Preceded in death by parents; Vincent J. Smith and Regina A. (McConnell) Smith-Miller; stepfather, Lewis J. Miller; husband, Harry Haines; son, Keith; daughter, Lori Ann Lane; grandchildren, Daniel, Nichole, Travis, and Keith; great grandson, David III; sisters, Audrey Ceneskie-Plummer, Dorothy Murray, Lydia Smith, Sylvia Weymer, Carol Burkey, and Evelyn Coleman; and brothers, Russell, Richard and Gary.
Survived by children, David (Diana Gillespie); Sharon Adorno (Manny); Kimberly Swinger (David Sr.); Ronald; Vicki Sculthorpe; son-in-law, Ralph Lane; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Lois Mullen; brothers, Walter, Duane, Clifford, Gerald “Jake,” and Edward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Polish National Catholic Church, Lilly. She valued her many friendships and taught us to embrace every moment; to sing as if no one was listening and to dance like no one was watching.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Father Scott Lill, presiding. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Germany.
