Mildred E. Vitko

VITKO – Mildred E. "Mam," 94, Mineral Point, died July 16, 2021, at home. Born July 25, 1926 in Croyle Township, daughter of Morgan and Ethel (Tyson) Goughnour.

Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, John A. Vitko, whom she married April 24, 1946; daughters, Mildred Leigh and Helen Howard; infant sister, Lyda; and brothers, Charles and Robert.

Survived by children, John Jr. (Jill), Susan (Frank Smith), Lenny (Debra), Tina Dixon, and Mark; brothers, Raymond and John (Lucy); 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Free-spirited and forever young, Mam had a kind spirit and a genuine smile that lit up any room. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and holidays; but above all else, her pride and joy was her family. She was a proud Navy wife, outstanding mother, and a perfect grandmother.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; The Reverend Thomas Moore presiding.

Interment, Ogden Cemetery.
