YAUNERIDGE – Michael, 91, Sidman, died September 9, 2022, at Cambria Care Center. Born May 2, 1931, in St. Michael, son of Michael and Anna (Bukovsky) Yauneridge. Preceded in death by son, Edward; and daughter, Michele Houghton.
Survived by beloved wife, Constance “Connie” (Morris) Yauneridge; children, Joseph, married to Flo (Haberkorn), Dunlo; Mary Ann, wife of Jeff Smith, Ebensburg; Robert, married to Shari (Krizmencic), Virginia Beach, Virginia; Deborah, wife of Miles Coleman, Ellamore, West Virginia; James, married to Susan (Koeck), Duncansville; and Donna, wife of Mark (DeRosa), Warrenton, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Diana (Hamilton) Yauneridge, Wilmington, Massachusetts; son-in-law, David Houghton, Sidman; sister, Rita, wife of Bill Gdula, Glendale, Maryland, twenty one grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
Member of St. Michael Catholic Church. US Army veteran of the Korean War and member of American Legion, Post 460, Beaverdale. Mike was a retired machinist and tool and die maker, having worked for US Steel, Johnstown Corporation, and Gilmore Manufacturing. Michael enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, and Polka music. If you ever needed something fixed all you had to say was take it to the shop and Dad (pap) can fix it. If you asked Michael how he was doing his famous reply would be “Mean, Miserable, Tired, Ornery and Cantankerous.” His smile was contagious, and he always brought joy to everyone around him.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 13, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Monsignor David A. Lockard, celebrant.
