Michael D. Gallo

GALLO – Michael D., 76, Mineral Point, died October 27, 2024, at home after facing cancer with strength and dignity. Born November 16, 1947, in Ehrenfeld. Preceded in death by parents, Michael and Sarah (Roddy) Gallo; and sisters, Sylvia Thompson and Connie Chernicky. 

He is survived by his wife, Penny M. (Mathias) Gallo, and numerous other family and friends. Mike was a graduate of Triangle Area High School, worked at the Cresson State Center, and retired from the Altoona State Center. 

Just as a winding trail may take us to unexpected places, Mike’s journey taught him to appreciate the simple pleasures found along the way. He enjoyed the rhythm of the seasons and found peace in quiet moments in the woods, a connection to something greater and a reminder that even in the face of challenges, there is always something beautiful to discover.
