MONTAG – Mary Agnes, 94, Richland, died peacefully September 4, 2023, surrounded by family members at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born April 21, 1929, daughter of Adolph A. “Dick” and Mary Margaret (Harris) Montag. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, Adolph Vincent Montag and brother, Bernard W. “Duke” Montag.
Survived by brother, Robert James Montag, Sr. Mary was an aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt to 37 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She loved watching them grow up and enjoyed attending as many sporting events and activities as she could.
Mary was a graduate of Richland High School Class of 1949. She worked at Kay Artley Dress Factory for 20 years. She then worked at Conemaugh Hospital as a housekeeper for many years until leaving to become a caregiver for her family. Mary spent the last four plus years at Richland Healthcare putting puzzles together, watching birds and enjoying company. She loved traveling, crafting, baking, sewing, and watching daily Mass. She was also known for talking on the phone or in person with loved ones and friends. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc. South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
Following cremation, a private committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown
