WYANDT – Mary Louise B., 71, South Fork, died January 21, 2021, at home. Born August 9, 1949, in Johnstown, daughter of the late William B. and Bernetta (Bridges) Mihalich.
Survived by husband of 48 years, Carl Wyandt, South Fork; daughter, Marlena, wife of Albert Montagna, Elkridge, Maryland; beloved grandchildren, Allie and Sawyer; brother, the Reverend Chuck S. Bridges, Sidman; and sisters, Kathy, widow of Stanley Oravecz, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania; and Suzanne, wife of Charles Weslager, Johnstown.
Mary Louise attended Johnstown High, was a graduate of West Virginia University, and earned a master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Thirty-four years of her professional life were dedicated to Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech; where she taught English, speech, literature, and later served as librarian. Following her retirement from public school she worked as librarian for SCI Cresson and Brenner. Member of American Association of University Women and St. Benedict Catholic Church, Richland; where she sang in their contemporary choir for many years. She was well read with a lifelong passion for learning. She cherished the many friendships she cultivated in her book club and always looked forward to new adventures, travelling with her husband. Her life as an educator was a source of deep pride and personal fulfillment. Mary Louise was a teacher, a great teacher. The breadth and depth of her knowledge and insight was only matched by her compassionate understanding for others. Her legacy will always be the numerous individuals she inspired to love learning.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father David Peles and Father Charles Bridges, Concelebrants.
