Mary Alice Colosimo

April 5, 1932 — August 7, 2021

COLOSIMO - Mary Alice "Mammy," 89, Sidman, went to be with her Lord August 7, 2021, on the farm and in the house she lived and loved her family in. Born April 5, 1932, in St. Michael, daughter of the late John D. and Anne (Costlow) Barrett. Mary Alice, known as "Mammy" to everyone that loved her, was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray and Jack Barrett; sisters, Kay Poldiak and Zita Stravinsky; and her loving husband, William E. "Pappy" Colosimo Jr., whom she married on May 22, 1954. Survived by her seven children, Deanna "Dee" (Charley) Roberts, William III "Bump" (Francine) Colosimo, Pam (Pat) McCall, Lena "Chris" (Bill) Kuchera, Michelle Stoy Matlin, John (Kim) Colosimo, and Tim (Shannon) Colosimo. The most loving "Mammy" to her 14 grandchildren, Rick (Jeannine), Bugsy (Monique), and George (Dianna) Roberts; Bill (Kelsey) Colosimo, Marie (Sam) Eash, and Ben (Nicole) Colosimo; Rick (Leah), Heather, and Jared (Erica Wirfel) Baxter; Mike (Sam Bischof) Stoy; Amy Schenkemeyer and Andy (Leanna) Schenkemeyer; and Kenzie and Mya Colosimo; and 18 great grandchildren; Brody, Bryce, Bryn, Ashton, Brooklyn, London, William V "Will", Hallie, Parker, Kinlee, Benji, Aubrey, Briley, Brantley, Kobe, Bronsyn, Bobby, and Cash.

Mammy was a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a former bus driver for the Forest Hills School District. She and her husband, Bill, raised a large family on a mink farm. That farm would become the center of the Colosimo family and the place where Mammy experienced her greatest joys. Being able to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up together playing "farm ball" was one of her greatest blessings. Mammy's entire life was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She knew how to quietly love and lead her family, never wanting credit for their successes, simply taking pride in each of them.
