HOLDSWORTH – Martha Louise, 84, formerly of Salix, passed away April 9, 2017, surrounded by loving family at her daughter’s home in Parrish, Florida. Born February 24, 1933, in Dunlo, daughter of the late John and Esther (Harrison) Calderwood.
Survived by loving husband of 64 years, Robert Holdsworth, whom she married February 16, 1953; daughter, Roberta, wife of Thomas Allendorfer, Parrish, Florida; beloved grandchildren, Erin Allendorfer, Pittsburgh; and Thomas Allendorfer, Elton; brother, Glenn Calderwood, Portage; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, as well as special sister-in-law, Janet, wife of Zane Hutzell and niece, Margaret Holdsworth who helped her during times of need.
Louise was a faithful and active member of Salix Bethel United Methodist Church. She retired from the Forest Hills School District, where she had worked as a cook for many years. She enjoyed working with children and had especially fond memories as a brownie and girl scouts leader. Family gatherings were always made special by her amazing efforts to prepare wonderful meals. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; her family and friends will hold dear memories of a beautiful, kind and loving woman who always gave of herself and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and also from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Rev. Don Poole, officiating.
