Mario M. Sr., 92, Dunlo, died June 17, 2017 at home. Born March 4, 1925, in Crabtree, son of Salvatore and Antoinette (DiGiambattista) DiMarino. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Grace M. (Pelton) DiMarino, who died August 28, 2003; infant daughter, Grace; sister, Theresa Chulick; brothers, Dan and Joseph; and son-in-law, John L. “Hoagie” Podrebarac.
Survived by daughters, Alice A. Podrebarac, Dunlo; and Deborah Katrancha, Johnstown; son, Mario M. “Mike,” Dunlo; grandchildren, Lynn Ann (Keith) Sowerbrower, Latrobe; Joseph J. (Courtney) Podrebarac, Johnstown; Cynthia M. (Jeffrey) Wicks, Salix; and Glenn (Elizabeth) Katrancha, Johnstown; great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Sydney, Madison, Anthony (Elizabeth), David, Alyssa, Corey and Shane; and brothers, Frank, Wickliffe, Ohio; Anthony, Orlando, Florida; and Peter J. Sr., Dunlo.
Mario was a US Army veteran of WWII. He retired from US Steel, was a member of American Legion Post 573, Dunlo; Adams Township Volunteer Fire Company 1, Dunlo; and the Cambria County Fireman’s Association.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, by Father Brian Warchola.
