MATULA – Marie J., 87, Salix, died August 13, 2016 at Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. Born June 13, 1929 in Martinsdale, daughter of Albert and Mary Krinjeck.
Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, Daniel F. Matula, who died October 30, 2014; son, Roy Matula; grandson, Keith Miller; son-in-law, Rodney Miller; brothers, Chester and William Krinjeck and sisters, Virgina Miller, and Pearl and Naomi Krinjeck.
Survived by children, Ivan Matula, married to Germnine (Swenson), Manor, TX; Milo Matula, Manor, TX; Nina Miller, Beaverdale; Nita Matula, Enola; and Danese Matula, Salix; grandchildren, Isis, Genes, Sheila, Keith and Marlene; great-grandchildren, Shanna, Morgan and Hunter; great-great-grandchild, Jayden; sisters, Ruth Krinjeck; Martha Boldizar and Marlene, married to Lowell Jones; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.
Marie was a dedicated member of St. Michael American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She had a passion for flowers, art work, painting, and the music of Johnny Cash. She was an inspirational and loving mother and grandmother who always put her family before herself.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, Johnstown, ceremonies by Bruce Wise, Life Celebrant.
Inurnment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
