105, of Wexford, passed away on November 22, 2023. Cherished daughter of the late Albert and Amelia (Berschneider) Seifert of Johnstown and Summerhill, beloved wife of the late Garner Samuel Ludwig, loving mother of Jane Broudy, Helen Morgan (Russell), Patti Ludwig-Beymer (Albert), and Thomas Ludwig (Janet). Also survived by five grandchildren, David Broudy (Melissa), Emily Morgan Murray (Michael), Kristina Ludwig Challita (Antonio), Stephen Ludwig, and Theresa Beymer Fox (Jim); seven great grandchildren, Samuel Broudy, Xaviana and Genevieve Challita, Elizabeth and Ryan Murray, and Bennett and Logan Fox; and sister Jean Gaumer. She was predeceased by siblings Zita Seifert, Arzella Kirby, Robert Seifert, Lucille Kist, Clement Seifert, Shirley Eggie, and Albert Seifert, Jr.
Born in Johnstown PA on May 4, 1918, she grew up in Summerhill, PA. After her marriage on October 4, 1941, she resided in Churchill Borough and had a distinguished career as Employer Relations Representative at the Pennsylvania State Employment Service. After retirement, she lived in Spring Hill, Florida for twenty years, finding great pleasure in travelling with her husband and creating beautiful baskets from pine needles. These baskets are a treasured remembrance for her family and friends. After her husband’s death, she returned to Pennsylvania and enjoyed her final years at Asbury Heights and North Hills Health and Rehabilitation, where she had many friends and was active in a musical group, volunteer activities, and playing bridge and pinochle. She never stopped learning and her independent spirit, optimism, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
