SMITH – Loretta, 85, Fifficktown, passed away November 2, 2022, at Conemaugh Hospital. Born August 18, 1937, in South Fork, daughter of Anthony F. and Julia R. (Wojnowski) Bentkowski. Preceded in death by parents; infant sister, Helen; sisters, Lottie, and Josephine Greczek; and brothers, Walter, Edward, Leo, Joseph, Carl and Sylvester. She is survived by many generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins both here in the U.S. and Poland.
Loretta was a 1955 graduate of South Fork Croyle High School and the IBM key punch program at Cambria Rowe Business College in Johnstown. She spent 35 years in the banking industry as a secretary and customer service representative, working at various banks, including First Commonwealth and Moxham National Bank. She was a faithful member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork and past president of the South Fork Women’s Club. A two-time survivor of cancer; she cherished time with family, loved tending to her flower garden, and enjoyed attending church picnics. She will be lovingly remembered among family and friends.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
