WOODSIDE – Lois J., 63, Jerome, formerly of New Germany, died April 20, 2025. Born October 19, 1961, in Altoona, daughter of John J. Sr. and Shirley J. (Eger) Van Nest. Preceded in death by parents, husband, James D. Woodside, who died November 25, 2006; brother, John Jr.; and sister, Betty Lynn.
Survived by daughter, Amanda Joy Woodside; sisters, Mary Ann Coons (Scott); her twin, Lisa Brethauer (Roy); June Kania (widow of Ron); and Nancy Jonas (Paul); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was a graduate of Penn Cambria High School, class of 1980. She never met a stranger, only friends she hadn’t gotten to know yet. Her easy-going nature and genuine interest in others—were part of the magic she brought into our lives. Her hands created beautiful crafts, crochet work, and flower arrangements. In everything Lois did, there was love. In every word she spoke, there was kindness. And in every life she touched, there remains a piece of her spirit.
