PAPCUNIK – Lois Jean, 88, Sidman, died January 5, 2017 at Windber Hospital. Born October 28, 1928, daughter of Alta Vivian Stevens. Preceded in death by mother; Uncle Thomas and Aunt Eva Fitzgibbons who raised her, husband Andrew P. Papcunik whom she married June 10, 1950; brother Ted Stevens; sisters Luella Spangler and Delores Steffey; and daughter-in-law Janice Marie (Yamber) Papcunik.
Survived by children, Thomas, married to Rhoda Hanna, Johnstown; Mary “Teen”, wife of Richard Jerome, Florence, MS; Raymond, married to Toni Lucci, Sidman; David, Mount Hope; Timothy, married to Mary Ann Krug, Mineral Point; Michael married to Rose Cox, Sidman; and Matthew; brother Ralph Stevens, Arizona; sister, Janet wife of James Murphy, Johnstown; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; special cousin, Florence Rose and other beloved family members.
Jean was a graduate of Beaverdale High School class of 1948. She formerly worked at Carpenter's Store, Stineman Ribbon and Trophy Co., Penelec, and Costlow cleaning, She was faithful and active parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael where she helped with bingo and was a member of the Funeral Luncheon Committe, as well as being a dedicated and hardworking member of the Adams Twp. Vol. Fire Company #2 St. Michael Ladies Auxilliary and the Forest Hills Senior Center.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, by Fr. Joseph Nale. Committal, St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Windber Hospice.
