TURGEON - Kenneth R., 75, Sidman, passed away November 12, 2023, surrounded by friends and family at home. Born April 15, 1948, in Johnstown, son of the late Ernest J. and Margaret (Costlow) Turgeon.
Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Cheryl (Wilson) Turgeon; sons, Derek (Lori Fox); Ryan (Renee Filinger); and Jeffrey (Allison Graham); grandchildren; Tiffany (Will Ellis), Carly (Luke Varner), Hunter, Logan, Tyler, and Owen; sister, Eugenie “Jeannie” (Ray Grove); brothers, Mark and Rodney (Lisa Hart); and best friend “brother from another mother,” Dave Lehman Sr.
Ken graduated from Adams Summerhill High School, class of 1966. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served on a Swift Boat as part of the Brown Water Navy. Following Vietnam, he also served with the Army National Guard and SeaBees in the Navy Reserve. Ken retired from Leman Machine Company. He was a gifted craftsman and woodworker; offering his talents to help build residential ramps for those in need. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, found peace in the outdoors, and especially cherished time at camp with family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Sidman Mount Olive Church, Pastors Daryl Penrod and Thomas Moore, presiding.
Inurnment at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Cemetery, Sidman.
