Kathryn D. Cleveland

CLEVELAND – Kathryn Diane, 68, Portage, died March 12, 2024, at home. Born February 14, 1956, in Buffalo, New York; daughter of the late Robert F. and Jean D. (Kendall) Dopp. 

Survived by daughters, Christine Christ (Walter), Kimberly Taylor (Kane), and Cynthia “Cyndi” Cleveland (Cory Smith); grandchildren, Walter “Bucky” IV and Case Christ, and Karina and Kendal Taylor; sister, Laura White (Kim); brother, Paul Dopp (Renee); nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, David, Josh, Eric, and Zach; and her beloved pets. 

Kathryn was a graduate of Central Michigan University. As an early childhood teacher, she nurtured a passion for learning and love for kids. She appreciated the art of storytelling, believed in the magic of movies and books, and enjoyed the adventure of exploring virtual worlds in video games as enthusiastically as any teenager. Her playful spirit brought joy to those around her, making even the simplest moments unforgettable. She was not just our mother; she was the “Best mom in the World.” And one of the strongest people anyone had ever met. 

A memorial service will be held in the spring at Elton – Zion Church.
