Kay was a graduate of South Fork High School, class of 1943. She worked for Empire Foundations and Stineman Coal & Coke Company. Member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was active with their former Altar & Rosary Society. Member of South Fork Women’s Club and Friends of the South Fork Library. Mom instilled in us that faith and family are the best foundations you can have. She was happiest spending time with family and friends. Listening to music always made her smile, she was a ruthless pinochle player, and enjoyed the challenge of solving jumbles and crossword puzzles. Those who knew her will hold dear memories of a loving, kind and generous woman who was full of life, laughter, and a wee bit of blarney.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 550 Main Street, South Fork; the Very Reverend Alan Thomas, V.G., Celebrant and Father Joseph C. Nale, Con-Celebrant. Committal, St. James Cemetery.
The family is especially grateful to all the staff at Meyersdale Medical Center who cared for our mom in her final days.
