STILES – Joseph R., 76, Sidman, went to be with the Lord, November 10, 2017, at home. Born October 9, 1941 in Bolivar, son of Robert L. and Sarah E. (Lovejoy) Stiles.
Preceded in by parents; first wife, Ruth A. (McDonald), and second wife, Marie V. (Rose).
Survived by wife, Shirley M. (Hollenbaugh) Jones-Stiles, Sidman; children, Robert, Lorain Borough; Michael, Brownstown; Susan, wife of James Smith, Nanty Glo; and Deborah Stiles, Johnstown; Tammy Dawson, who was like another daughter to him; grandchildren, Levi, Tevin, Justin, Joe and Andrew; great-granddaughter, Ava; sisters, Patricia Locher, Johnstown; and Katherine Locher, Richland; father-in-law, David Hollenbaugh, Home, Pennsylvania; step-children, Billie Miller, Johnstown; William Jones, Johnstown; John and Kelly Jones, New York; and Lora and Tom Crum, Wilmore; 9 step-grandchildren and numerous other beloved family and friends. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Member of Beaverdale Alliance Church. Graduate of Greater Conemaugh Joint High School, Class of 1960. Veteran of the US Army and former steel worker with Bethlehem and retired truck driver from Galliker’s Dairy. Joe was a talented craftsman who built his own house and was the last remaining original member of the local country music band “The Hired Hands.” He was a humanitarian volunteering his time with disaster relief ministries. Joe had traveled to every state except Hawaii and Alsaska (even Puerto Rico).
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
