ONDREJIK – Joseph, 93, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2023. Born April 6, 1930, in Johnstown; son of Michael and Theresa (Sivulka) Ondrejik. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Anna Ragan, Martha Klatt, and Julia Haschak; and brothers, Charles, John, and Nicholas.
Survived by wife of 63 years, Nancy L. (Tepper); children, Dr. Joseph (Leisa Pulliam), Dr. Timothy (Pamela Moore); Dr. Susan Cottingham (Thad); David (Theresa Winter); grandchildren, Joey, Andrew, Erik (Stephanie), Keri, Karlie, and Kyle; great-granddaughter, Addison Grace; brother-in-law, Louis Tepper (Karen); and sister-in-law, Patricia (Doug Broxson).
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Joseph graduated from Greater Johnstown High School in 1950, University of Pittsburgh in 1954 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Science Education, upon graduating from college, he entered the US Army, and is a Korean War Veteran. When returning back from Korea, he received his Masters in Education and Letter of Eligibility from University of Pittsburgh. He taught at Garfield, was Principal at Franklin High School and Conemaugh Valley Elementary School. Later he became Assistant Superintendent of Conemaugh Valley, and then Superintendent. Joseph was a member of Cambria County Chapter Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Life Member and former Vice Commander of Franklin Borough VFW Post 5107, member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551, A.A.S.R. Northern Masonic Lodge, Johnstown Masonic Lodge #538, Shriners, and First Lutheran Church, Johnstown. Joseph enjoyed fishing with his kids and grandkids, hunting and bowling.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Vicar Christy Harford presiding.
Interment Christ the Saviour Cathedral Cemetery.
