KOSTYK – Joseph, 86, St. Michael, died October 22, 2019, at home surrounded by loving family. Born January 2, 1933, in Johnstown, son of Anthony and Mary (Sawka) Kostyk. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Walter, John Sr. and Steve; and sisters, Ann Beltz, Kay Humbert, and Rose Mowry.
Survived by loving wife of 60 years, Connie R. (Huff) Kostyk, whom he married April 4, 1959; children, Joseph, married to Andrea (Carosi), Salix; Georgetta, wife of William Costlow, South Fork; Raymond, St. Michael; Alice Smith and companion, Dave Sobleskie, Sidman; and Connie, wife of Brian Garman, St. Michael; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; brother, Harry, married to Ida (Varner), New Jersey; and sister, Gloria Ream, Parkhill.
US Army veteran of the Korean War. Joe retired from the Ebensburg Center, where he was a direct care worker for over 30 years. Member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, and smoking his pipe.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, Pastor Peter Norlund presiding.
Interment, Dunmyer Cemetery.
