Joseph Gallo

GALLO – Joseph, 90, South Fork, died September 22, 2023. Born May 26, 1933, in South Fork, the last surviving child of John Sr. and Mary (Pastor) Gallo. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Mary Mills, Agnes Mutch, and Helen Bimle; and brothers, John, Michael, Steve, and Frank Gallo. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1951 and a US Army veteran of the Korean War, having served in Germany. He retired from GTE. He was a member of the former St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, South Fork; and member of American Legion Post 653 and VFW Post 7524.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where Parastas will be sung at 6:45 p.m.

Brief service at funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Portage, by Rev. Fr. James Spontak.

Committal, St. James Cemetery, South Fork.

Military rites by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
