John Bohachick

June 8, 1923 — March 10, 2017

BOHACHICK – John, 93, Johnstown, died March 10, 2017, at Westmont Woods. Born June 8, 1923, in Houtzdale, son of Matthew and Anna (Melish) Bohachick.

Preceded in death by parents; and wife, Sophie E. (Matia) Bohachick, who died, December 7, 2014; brother, Sam; and sisters, Mary Markiewicz, Ellen Fenchak, and Ann Schiraldi.

Survived by daughter, Kathleen, wife of Thomas Trautz, Swarthmore, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Margaret; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was a US Army veteran of WWII, having served in the European Theatre with the 9th Infantry Div. He worked in the Ehrenfeld coal mines and retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Franklin Car Shop. He was a faithful member of SS. Gregory & Barnabas Parish, Daisytown; and also a member of American Legion Post 970, Parkhill; and the Knights of Columbus.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held Monday evening.

Friends will also be received from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Father Robert L. Ruston,

Committal, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown.

Military graveside service by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
