Joanne M. Thomas

THOMAS – Joanne M., 82, Sidman, passed peacefully February 9, 2024, surrounded by family. Born July 11, 1941, in Windber, daughter of Peter R. and Anna P. (Stupic) Ladika. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, James. 

Survived by husband of 63 years, Ronald G. Thomas, whom she married April 23, 1960; children, Tracy (Martin Yakicic), Rodger (Deborah Petkosh), Patti (Ronald McClelland), and William; beloved grandchildren, Janelle, Hilary (Seth), Tyler (Chae), Anna (Luke), Brittany (Alec), Aaron, Ian (Danielle), and Isabella; great grandchildren whom she adored, Zeke, Arlo, Charlotte, Weston, Merrick, Julian, Daniela, Molly, Kenzie, and Leo; brothers, William (Helen Penna) and Richard (Janice Mehora); sister-in-law, Pauline Ladika; dear friend, Stephanie Rovansek; and family friend, Barry Seese. 

Joanne was a graduate of Adams – Summerhill High School, class of 1959. Member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where she enjoyed fellowship with friends in the choir and former Ladies Guild. Retired clerk for JC Penny and longtime volunteer at Mercy and Conemaugh Hospital. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bingo and trips to Rocky Gap Casino, and was known for her beautiful crochet blankets and dish cloths.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Father Jerzy Auguscik, OFM Conv., celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
