Joan became a strong member of the Mount Hope community and church. She volunteered at the Forest Hills Senior Center helping in the kitchen and cheering seniors with her quick wit and ever present smile. Joan cherished her family and welcomed and adored each grand and great grand-child as they entered the world. No matter how big or small any of each family’s accomplishments were, she beamed proudly and was excited to share the latest success at church. She loved to travel and saw much of the U.S. on bus trips with local friends. She was an avid baker and gardener and loved to knit and crochet; one of her favorite hobbies was shopping and getting the best deals available. She helped to create the War Brides Club and loved to have family and friends visit frequently. She was quick to laugh, always ready for a new adventure, and celebrated life daily.
