Jo Crute

CRUTE – Irene “Jo,” 95, went to be with the Lord February 16, 2023. Born August 29, 1927, in South Fork, daughter of William A. and Stella M. (Giles) Stafford. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Harriet Howe, Pearl “Boo” Stafford, and Mary Shaw; and brothers, William Jr., Richard, and Robert Stafford.

Survived by loving husband of 73 years, David Crute, whom she married May 7, 1949; daughters, Pamela (Michael) Cornell and Peggy (Paul) Glacken; sister, Sandra (Terry) Reighard; grandchildren, Shawn (Amy) and Samantha Cornell, and Joshua (Elizabeth), Dr. Jared, and Jason Glacken; and great grandchildren, Donovan and Devon Cornell, and Cora and Luke Glacken.

Jo was a graduate of South Fork High school, class of 1945. She had a steadfast faith in the Lord and was affiliated with Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship. She loved unconditionally, was a supportive and thoughtful listener; and family gatherings were always made special by her amazing efforts to prepare wonderful meals, celebrations, and time with family.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; the Reverend Jim Gay presiding.

Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
